Are you suffering from headaches? If so, there is help available. No two headaches are alike and no two headaches respond to the same treatment. Therefore, the key is individualized care for each patient. At Pain Management Center of Lansing (PMCL) we have the resources to give individualized care. We work closely with, Dr. Amit Masih of Michigan State University's Department of Neurology. Dr. Masih is fellowship trained at the University of Michigan in headache management. Coordinated with the pain physicians in the practice, interventional procedures can be done when needed to alleviate the pain that occurs with certain types of headaches.
Any individual has the potential to develop headaches. Some headaches are due to family history or environmental factors. The headache spectrum varies greatly in terms of frequency and pain. Headache sufferers can get a headache once every few years to daily for years. It has been estimated that 45 million Americans suffer from chronic recurring headaches (headaches occurring more than 15 days per month). There are many different types of headaches including, tension type, Migraine, trigeminal neuralgia, cervicogenic headaches, and other facial pain/headaches.
Our goal is to find the correct therapy for the specific type of headache and get you back to functioning with family, friends, and co-workers.
With the assistance of the physicians here at PMCL, treatment options can be individualized for each patient based on the type, frequency and severity of the headaches you are suffering. Once a treatment is sought, we can work together to find a plan that works for you. In addition to pain management, alleviation of headaches and interventional procedures, we will coordinate with our pain psychologist, Dr. Cam Riessinger. She is able to offer bio feedback, relaxation techniques, and other ways to cope with chronic headache pain. Our overall goal is to improve quality of life and help our patients get back to living without pain.
